Job Brief:

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher's assistant to help the lead teacher in planning and developing classroom activities for preschool children, help to keep a safe environment for the children and clearly communicates with parents and other staff about issues concerning the children.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing activities with children between the ages of two and five years, consistent with the curriculum guide, resources and training provided.
• Maintain a safe and well organized classroom environment for children
• Record any important observations regarding student development and ensure that it is communicated to the lead teacher
• Provide children with support during lunchtime and ensure that their nutritional needs are fulfilled
• Change diapers and help children in cleaning themselves
• Oversee children to make sure that they are safe during outdoor activities
• Assume the lead teacher’s role in his/her absence
• Establish and maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents and staff.

Requirements:

• Graduation from High School and some experience working with children of preschool age.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
• Level 2 in Child care
• Food Handler's Permit
• Police Certificate/Record
• Medical Certificate
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Two references
• Passport sized photo
